Could you briefly describe your company and its activities?

The Marceau family business, located in the Doubs region of France, celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2022. Our company employs around fifty people and has sales of €9 million. We manufacture continuous handling systems for palletized loads, and operate mainly in intralogistics markets. We have two design offices, our own integrated manufacturing workshops, and we install machines on our customers' sites. At the same time, our maintenance department carries out preventive and corrective operations on our customers' machines. We work for all sectors, with a particular focus on the food industry, but also with logisticians (particularly in the fresh and deep-freeze sectors) and integrators. We are also well established in the pharmaceutical industry.

 

What was your experience of the previous edition of Prod & Pack, in 2021?

We were just coming out of a period of Covid, and felt that there was a real desire to get together with customers and prospects to exchange ideas and work on projects. We have fond memories of the previous event. In 2022, the post-Covid period translated into a good year in terms of order intake, and the contacts made at the show are part of this upturn.

 

Will you be taking part in this year's demonstration of the Re-use Packaging Line?

Absolutely, we'll be bringing three machines to demonstrate a part of our transitique system. We'll be linking a palletizer to an AMR, which will come and retrieve the pallets from our machine. The aim of our presence is to showcase the modules we design and offer our customers, but it's also an opportunity to demonstrate our ability to communicate with other machines around ours. We managed this challenge as if it were a project we'd run in-house for a customer. When we deliver a machine to a manufacturer, we're constantly in contact with palletizers upstream, AGVs and AMRs downstream... Each time it's a new challenge, but we always give ourselves the means to succeed.

 

In your contacts with customers today, do you feel the impact of the reuse trend and, more generally, of environmental issues?

We are constantly looking for solutions to these problems. For example, we offer motors that consume less energy. In some cases, we are also working on energy recovery. We're keen to respond to the environmental issues that our customers are increasingly addressing.

 

What do you expect from Prod & Pack 2023?

In 2023, we're sensing a certain anxiety on the part of our customers to get projects off the ground, given the current difficult economic climate. The aim of this show is to demonstrate to our customers that we're always there for them, and that we're ready to support them. For prospective customers, it's a question of demonstrating our know-how in terms of equipment, our technical skills and the expertise we can bring to bear in solving their problems. We'll be delighted to be present at the show, with double visibility thanks to our stand and our demonstration of the Re-use Packaging Line.
